Program Description: The Associate of Science in (Hospital-Based) Radiography program is a limited access program. This program provides a means for those currently enrolled in an accredited hospital-based program to obtain an Associate in Science Degree in Radiography. This program is also open to graduates of such programs, who hold a national certification by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) and a valid state license. Radiographers manipulate x-ray equipment and provide patient care to produce images of the tissues, organs, bones, and vessels of the body. Radiographers work closely with radiologists, who are the physicians responsible for interpreting medical images. Visit the program’s website for additional information.
Additional Program Information
Students must complete a minimum of 20 general education and core credit hours at Broward College to satisfy residency requirements.
To apply for experiential learning credit, students must provide an official transcript indicating graduation/completion date from a hospital-based Radiography program, or valid ARRT certification. In order to successfully progress through the Radiography Program, students must achieve all cognitive, affective, and psychomotor objectives. This requires a grade of "C" or above to be earned in all didactic courses and an "S" (satisfactory) grade in all clinical/laboratory courses. This is in addition to maintaining an overall degree GPA of at least 2.0.
