Program Description: The Associate of Science in Radiography program is a limited access program. This degree program prepares students to practice as radiographers. Radiographers manipulate x-ray equipment and provide patient care to produce images of the tissues, organs, bones, and vessels of the body. Radiographers work closely with radiologists, who are the physicians responsible for interpreting medical images. Graduates are eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification exam & subsequently apply to the state of Florida for licensure. ADDITIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION
Program applicants who have prior criminal proceedings, disciplinary actions taken by a state or federal regulatory authority or certification board, and/or honor code (academic) violations should initiate an Ethics Review Pre-Application process with the ARRT prior to starting the program. This review process is done to avoid potential denial of eligibility to take the exam or delays when applying to take the certification exam. Applicants should visit the ARRT Website at www.arrt.org for further information.
In order to successfully progress through the Radiography Program, students must achieve all cognitive, affective, and psychomotor objectives. This requires a grade of "C" or above to be earned in all radiography courses. This is in addition to maintaining an overall degree GPA of at least 2.0.
