Program Entrance Requirements: HS Diploma or GED.
Program Description: The AS degree in Health Navigator is designed to prepare students for employment as health navigators, medical and service managers, and biller and coders. Content includes but is not limited to communication skills, leadership skills, human relations, employability skills, principles of health insurance, introduction to computer literacy, health care organization, medical ethics, legal aspects, and health and safety. Positions can be found in hospitals, clinics, and insurance companies.
ADDITIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION
The 60-credit AS degree is intended to provide a completion point for every student not admitted into their HS program of choice. Enrollment in this program does not guarantee admission to any limited access programs. Students will be eligible to be employed as both a Health Navigator and Biller and Coder. A capstone is required, which may require a background check.
