ETD1103C  ENGINEERING GRAPHICS WITH CAD  (3.00 Credits)

SURVEY OF PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES INVOLVED IN MAKING AND READING ENGINEERING DRAWINGS. ENGINEERING GRAPHICS WILL PLACE EMPHASIS ON VISUALIZATION, ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTION AND LINE TECHNIQUES. INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER-AIDED DRAFTING/DESIGN WILL EMPHASIZE SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES NECESSARY TO FUNCTION IN SYSTEMS DRAFTING ENVIORNMENT. INCLUDES KEYBOARD COMMANDS, MENU PRINTER/PLOTTER, INPUT DEVICES, COMPUTER TERMINOLOGY AND SYSTEMS OPERATION. PROVIDES hands-on experience to create, save and retrieve drawings having various shapes, lines, types, dimensions and layers. This course includes learning activity desgined to ensure competence in the basic use of computers.

ETD1320C  BASIC CAD  (3.00 Credits)

First course in computer aided design (CAD), lab work using AutoCAD software. Topics include AutoCAD command structure, setting units and limits, drafting primitives, layering, use of editing tools; grid, snap, and axis commands. Assignments requiring extensive use of the CAD Extra lab hours are available.

Covers additional topics in AutoCAD which include blocks, move and copy, array, mirror, text, text styles, 3D and isometric modes. The development of macro operations. As in basic CAD, extra lab hours are available.
