As part of the New Student Orientation (NSO) process, all degree-seeking students new to Broward College must attend an orientation session. Before the session, an academic plan is created for each new student in BC Navigate.

At the NSO session, students will register for their first term classes, learn how to register for future terms, schedule their first advising appointment, and be asked to complete the New Student Orientation (Part 2) located in D2L, where students are informed about programs, types of degrees, support services, engagement opportunities, the use of technology platforms specific to Broward College, safety, code of conduct, and Title IX information. The students will have the whole semester to go through the part 2 orientation on D2L.
