MET1010  ATMOSPHERIC PROCESSES  (3.00 Credits)

Introductory course covering the origin, composition and structure of the atmosphere, solar energy and the Earth's energy budget, air temperature, humidity, clouds and cloud formation, precipitation, global circulation model, air masses, fronts, mid latitude cyclones, severe storms, air pollution, atmospheric optics, and global climates and climate change. The course focuses on the physical and chemical processes associated with each topic, and how each forms part of the global atmospheric system.
