For degree, diploma and certificate programs, the unit of credit is the semester credit hour, representing 15-16 hours of lecture instruction with 50-minute class periods. Generally, 30-32 hours of laboratory work count as one unit of credit. Clinical courses will vary in the number of hours per semester credit hour. For Vocational Certificates the unit of credit is the vocational credit.

Short sessions, Weekend College, and classes that meet less than three times per week are adjusted to include the required equivalency of credit hour instruction.
