Program Entrance Requirements:
- Minimum Broward College Overall GPA of 2.5.
- Completion of ENC1101 COMPOSITION I and a General Education Speech course (minimum grade of "C").
- A2 HESI test for Dental Assisting
- Applicants must complete the Health Science limited access program admission application and requirements
Program Description: As certified members of the dental team, dental assistants provide a wide range of services drawing on knowledge of the dental sciences, specialized, clinically honed skills and proficiency in office management procedures.
Graduates of our 12-month Applied Technical Diploma (ATD) Dental Assisting program are awarded the Expanded Functions Certificate and the Dental Radiographer Certificate accepted by the state of Florida. Clinical training takes place in our on-campus dental clinic, Broward Dental Research Clinic (BDRC), and in community-based health facilities. Visit program’s website for additional information.
Additional Program Information
Students must complete all required coursework with a grade of “C” or higher and earn a minimum degree grade point average of 2.0. The transfer of 44 dental assisting ATD credits is guaranteed for 3 years following the ATD award date, and there is no expiration for the 6 credits of general education coursework.
