CLO 1: 1.0 The students shall be able to clearly communicate in writing information derived from course related readings the major concepts and themes in the geological sciences.\n

CLO 3: 3.0 The students shall be able to explain the structure of atoms, chemical bonding, and the formation minerals and rocks.
CLO 4: 4.0 The students shall be able to identify various surficial earth processes as weather-, water- and gravity-driven and recognize geomorphic and physiographic features associated with them as well how these processes and features have impacted humankind over the course of earth's history.

CLO 5: 5.0 Students shall be able to apply their understanding of geologic principles to the complex issue of plate tectonics and its impacts on the natural environment
CLO 6: 6.0 The students shall recognize earth as an ancient planet which has undergone significant amounts of change throughout its history at different time scales, as well as understand how rock strata, fossils and other age-dating techniques have led to a detailed earth history.
