CLO 1: 1.0 Through reading, writing, viewing and discussion, the student shall develop a basic vocabulary of dance-making tools in order to describe, interpret and evaluate a dance.
CLO 2: 2.0 Through reading, writing, viewing, discussion and testing the student shall analyze and recognize the ritual nature of dance in early world cultures.
CLO 3: 3.0 Through reading, writing, viewing, discussion and testing the student shall distinguish folk and social dances and relate them to cultural values.
CLO 4: 4.0 Through reading, writing, viewing, discussion and testing the student shall examine the history of at least two classical and contemporary dance forms.
CLO 5: 5.0 The student shall be able to discuss the development of Twentieth Century Dance and interpret as well as evaluate examples of choreographic works presented through reading, writing, viewing, discussion and testing.
CLO 6: 6.0 The student shall be able to discuss the history of Jazz, Tap and Musical Theater as well as identify and analyze the stylistic and entertainment values of each through reading, writing, viewing, discussion and testing.
CLO 7: 7.0 The student shall be able to identify and discuss the aesthetics and values of dance in today's society and evaluate current issues surrounding cultural appropriation of dance forms and/or specific movements.
